Drew Barrymore sizzles in gorgeous green suit at the launch of her new Grove Co. collection

September 2024 · 3 minute read

Drew Barrymore looked fresh as a spring day in a Kelly green suit at the launch of her collab with the Grove Collaborative.

The suit featured a long, oversized blazer and low-rise, wide-legged pants. The Santa Clarita Diet star, who doesn't buy into the self-care industry, 48, wore an ivory silk blouse with the suit.

Her long, red hair was loose and tousled as she posed for pictures with attendees of the event.

Designer Christian Siriano, in a moment of kismet, turned up wearing a corduroy jacket in the exact same shade as Drew's suit.

They embraced fiercely upon meeting with the green of their clothing blending together.

Grove Collaborative sells eco-friendly, sustainable products for the home.

The E.T. star invested in the company last April and became its first global brand ambassador and sustainability advocated.

'I wanted to create a line of home accessories that were bright, modern and inspired by the beauty of the natural world,' Barrymore said in a statement at the time.

'Every piece was designed and crafted to be sustainable, beautiful and effective for the health of people and the planet. I hope the collection inspires others to take action and embark on their own sustainability journey – making it easier to use less plastic in their daily lives.'

She was ultimately inspired to get involved with Grove Co. by the 2021 Adam McKay movie Don't Look Up.

'I can’t stand the accuracy of the silliness and the divide and the crazy behavior and it doesn’t seem like what anybody says will ever rise to the top,' Barrymore told Forbes. 'It will just keep getting swallowed down into the mass hysteria.'

But instead of losing hope, she decided to get more involved.

Just nine percent of plastic gets recycled and the Charlie's Angels actress wants that percentage to increase.

Drew discovered Grove from an Instagram ad and was a customer long before she became an investor and advocate.

'You see Burger King doing the Impossible Burger,' the mom of two noted. 'That was just three years ago, and the plant-based movement is everywhere. All it does is take a spark to ignite a fire. It’s about big companies and corporations making these giant changes.'

And while Drew may be set on saving the world with more eco-friendly products and recycling more plastic - when it comes to self-care, she admits she forgets to do it.

The actress told InStyle that she prefers to hang out with her dog, cat and bearded dragon as well as her two kids Frankie and Olive than buy into the 'self care' fad.

'Self-care and I are not friends,' she said as she plugged her new collab.

'Having less, having systems, making a commitment to live a more peaceful life through less chaos, that's my version of self-care,' Barrymore added.

The mother of two shared that she barely does her nails, doesn't always keep to her exercise routine and gets 'annoyed' with massage therapists who tell her she seems stressed out. But she does enjoy therapy and candles.

'Self-care for me is having my kids' stuff organized to get out the door in the morning, lined up. That's self-care,' the 50 First Dates star said.
