A Texas father charged with capital murder after being accused of driving his teenage son to a convenience store where he allegedly killed three people can be seen with a broad smile and little remorse on his face in a recently released mugshot.

Richard Acosta, 33, is being held on a $1 million bond as police continue to search for his son Abel Elias Acosta, 14, who is accused of shooting dead three teenagers and injured a fourth at a Texaco in Garland on December 26.

Richard, who was originally thought to be the getaway driver, turned himself in to the Garland Police Department and admitted that he drove his son to the convenience store.

'Everything in our investigation shows that he had knowledge of everything going on,' said Garland Police Lt. Pedro Barineau.

'The fact that he drove away quickly, he knew, which is also why he's being charged with capital murder.'

Abel is considered armed and dangerous, police said, as the manhunt continues in around the town located about 30 miles northeast of Dallas.

He allegedly killed Xavier Gonzalez, 14, Ivan Noyala, 16, and Rafael Garcia, 17, and wounded an identified 15-year-old fourth victim after getting out of his father's white pickup trunk, opening the door to Texaco and firing around 20 rounds.

Police believe that Noyala and Garcia are believed to be the suspected targets after Abel had an argument with one or both of the boys. The teen will also face capital murder charges when arrested.

Surveillance video footage shows the shirtless young teen carefully make his way to the entrance of the gas station, his face covered by a surgical mask and a baseball hat.

Acosta can then be seen as he ducks and peeks through a window into the store before opening fire with a handgun, unloading multiple gunshots throughout the store.

At a news conference Monday, police said that Xavier was at the store ordering food at the time Acosta opened fire inside the store, while the other two teens had entered the store together.

'We sit there and wait for him to come home and we know he's not coming home,' Erica Gonzalez, Xavier's aunt, told ABC News.

'We just want justice to be done, we want him to get popped.'

Another 14-year-old boy, who was not identified, had been initially arrested the day after the shootings, but he was released without being charged the same day.

That teen currently remains a person of interest, although authorities said he was not the shooter, according to police.

A vigil was held for the three teens on Tuesday at the convenience store, where many left candles and memorabilia.

Abel has been described by police as a light-skinned Hispanic male with dark hair, brown eyes, approximately 5-foot-5 and weighing around 125 pounds.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the teenager's arrest and anyone with knowledge about his present location is being instructed to call 911 or make an anonymous tip to Garland Crime Stoppers at (972-272-8477) or online
